
PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — At least three people were killed and others were wounded in a rash of shootings across Philadelphia overnight, according to police.
The most recent happened close to 3 a.m. Sunday on West Ruscomb Street in the city’s Logan section. Police said several men were standing on a sidewalk when someone walked up and opened fire.
One man, who returned fire, was shot and killed. He was later identified as 48-year-old Rasheim Childs.
The gunman, 31-year-old Devante Jackson, was hit in the leg, and another man was wounded. His condition is unknown.
Police said Jackson shot and killed Childs after an argument. He is charged with murder, attempted murder and related offenses.
Earlier that morning, just before 1 a.m., a man was found fatally shot inside a car at Warnock Street and Spencer Avenue in the Fern Rock neighborhood. He was later identified as 45-year-old Ronald Lewis.
And, minutes before that, a man in his 30s was fatally shot in the head at East Thayer and E streets in Kensington.
No arrests have been made in those shootings.
