PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Investigators say groups of men have been robbing people and beating them up in South Philadelphia. It has happened at least five times in the last month.

The most recent case happened around 12:45 a.m. Thursday near 10th and Reed streets. Police said three men pushed a victim off a bike, then kicked the person unconscious and took their wallet.

About an hour before that, the group approached someone on Annin Street, near 11th Street. They flashed a gun and took the person's credit cards and cash.

Earlier this month, police said the group beat up two other people, leaving one of them with a concussion.

"It's obviously hugely concerning," Joe Manning, who has lived in South Philly for years, told NBC10. "We're out here all the time. We have a little puppy that we walk late at night. We've never really had an issue like this."

Manning said he and other neighbors are working with police to try to help catch the suspects.
