PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Another violent weekend in Philadelphia leaves nine people killed and nearly two dozen others injured in shootings throughout the city. Four teens were shot this weekend.

Six of the victims were gunned down in one incident early Labor Day morning.

Just before 1 a.m. Monday, police were called out to a smaller street near Seventh and Ontario streets in North Philadelphia’s Fairhill section. Officers found half a dozen people shot, including a 17-year-old boy with a bullet wound to the leg.

A 33-year-old woman and a 19-year-old man suffered multiple injuries and died at the hospital. Two men, 23 and 55 years old, remain in critical condition at the hospital.

Across town in Kingsessing, two men were found dead from gunshot wounds just after 3:30 a.m. Saturday morning near South 52nd Street and Woodland Avenue. One is believed to be in his 20s and was shot in the head. The other, a 39-year-old, was shot several times throughout the body.

A 19-year-old man was found dead Sunday afternoon in a gas station parking lot along Lancaster Avenue near 46th Street in Mill Creek. He had been shot eight times throughout the body.

A 17-year-old boy is physically recovering from bullet wounds in his chest and torso, after being gunned down at South 28th and Moore streets at about 1:50 a.m. Saturday. Another 17-year-old was critically wounded near 49th and Woodland Avenue Sunday night.

As of Monday afternoon, 364 people have been killed by gunfire in the city. Nearly 1,300 others have also been shot. The city is on pace with last year’s record-breaking year, where 562 people were killed in homicides.

On Sunday, Philadelphia police arrested five boys in connection with shots fired in Center City.

Philadelphia Police Commissioner Danielle Outlaw tweeted that officers heard several gunshots near 10th and Market streets in Center City, near the Fashion District, around 5:45 p.m.

Authorities say they ran toward the shots and took one of the boys into custody. He dropped a bag that contained a gun. Another boy, who police say had a gun with an extended magazine,  was arrested.
