PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A house fire in Strawberry Mansion left one person dead Friday night, and police said a separate investigation is underway after someone broke into two fire trucks while crews responded to the blaze.
Officials told NBC10 a fire started around 4:45 p.m. Friday afternoon on the 3200 block of Ridge Avenue.
Officials said a burglar broke into two fire trucks and stole a red Jeep at the firehouse. At least two firefighters reported that personal items, including a set of car keys, house keys, and medication, were taken.
One person was killed in the fire, authorities said.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation, and police are searching for the thief.
