RADNOR, P.A. (KYW Newsradio) — After nearly five decades of raising money and awareness for lung disease, the Radnor Run will end after its 48th year on Sunday, Oct. 26.
Caroline Hutchinson with the American Lung Association, which organizes the run, said it has raised around $1.75 million over the last 20 years for local institutions.
“We are celebrating 240 miles and one unforgettable finish,” she said.
The run’s end comes after some structural reorganization by the American Lung Association that led it to cut some annual events, according to Hutchinson.
“I am really sad to see the event go, but we are planning to spend more time and energy towards our mission of research, education and advocacy around lung disease in and around greater Philadelphia,” she said.
Prospective runners can register for the 5-mile or 1-mile race, or 2-mile trail walk in-person at the Radnor Township Building or online at radnorrun.com.
