MEDFORD, N.J. (KYW Newsradio) — Firefighters in South Jersey were able to put a fire out at a popular sports bar Thursday morning before it got out of hand.
Authorities said a fire in a storage room at Ott’s Tavern on Stokes Road in Medford was contained to that area, but there was minor smoke damage outside the room.
Medford Fire Chief Robert Dovi said the call came in around 7:30 a.m.
“The fire went to two alarms. There were no injuries, the business wasn’t occupied at the time, and it’s still under investigation by the Medford Fire Marshal’s Office and the Medford Criminal Investigative Bureau,” he said.
Dovi said the storage room was located towards the back of the business, but firefighters were able to get water on it quickly, keeping it from spreading. He expects Ott’s to be closed for a little while to repair smoke damage.
