PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A Philadelphia Parking Authority employee is fighting for his life after being shot in the Frankford area while on the job.
It was just before 4 p.m. Friday when Philadelphia police responded to reports of a man with a gun at Frankford Avenue near Orthodox Street.
Upon arrival, Lt. Frank Vanore said officers found a 37-year-old man with two gunshot wounds. "Once to the left ear and once to the right shoulder," Vanore said. "I'm told he's in critical condition."
The victim was a PPA enforcement officer assigned to that part of Frankford Avenue. Police believe he was targeted, but they don't yet have a motive.
"We know he wrote several tickets in this area. Of course that’s going to be part of the active investigation we have," said Vanore.
Authorities haven't made any arrests at this time.
