PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Two Philadelphia men, Quadiar Dailey, 23, and Samir Hawkins, 24, were sentenced Thursday in the murder of a 15-year-old nearly three years ago.
In February, the pair was found guilty of third-degree murder by Judge Scott O’Keefe for the shooting death of Namir Johnson on April 6, 2021, along West Somerset Street.
Dailey was also convicted of first-degree murder for the fatal shooting of 16-year-old Kadeem Green in April of that same year along North Taney Street near West Cambria Street. Prosecutors say the same ghost gun was used in both murders.
Prosecutors say they linked clothing, surveillance video and ballistics to Dailey and Hawkins.
Dailey was sentenced to life in prison for Green’s death and was handed down additional years for other related offenses.
Hawkins was sentenced to 25-50 years in prison and was ordered to get vocational training and mental health treatment.
