PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Abington police said racist and offensive graffiti was found marking several places in the Weldon Park playground in Glenside.
In a social media post, police said antisemitic and anti-Black graffiti was spray-painted onto signs and playground equipment.
Our newsgathering partners at NBC10 reported that dozens of community members came together with their own supplies Saturday to clean up the site.
Abington School Board President Melissa Mowry described the vandalism as "cowardly" and "despicable."
Police are asking anyone with information to contact them at 267-536-1100.
“We stand united with our Jewish and Black communities, who were targeted by these acts,” police wrote in a Facebook post.
