PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — An employee at a Delaware County middle school was arrested on charges of sexually assaulting a juvenile in Texas.

U.S. marshals and Radnor police arrested 43-year-old Michael Robinson on Thursday.

Authorities said Robinson, a paraprofessional at Radnor Middle School, traveled to Tyler, Texas, in August 2024 after meeting a juvenile under the age of 15 online. Robinson is accused of assaulting the child over the course of a weekend.

Prosecutors in Texas indicted Robinson and issued a warrant for his arrest in December 2025.

He is being held at a Delaware County correctional facility, awaiting extradition to Texas.

In a statement, Radnor Township School District said it is cooperating fully with law enforcement and that Robinson has been placed on leave, with no student contact allowed.

"At this time, we have no information indicating misconduct involving district students. Parents of the limited number of children to whom the employee was assigned were contacted by the administration immediately," the district said.

The district said at the time of Robinson's hire, all required background checks were completed.

Counseling services are available to students who may need it.
