PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — U.S. Rep. Chrissy Houlahan is facing federal investigation.

Houlahan, a Democrat who represents almost all of Chester County and some of Berks County, took part in a video last November urging military personnel to resist "illegal orders" from the Trump administration.

Rep. Chris Deluzio, who represents the northwest suburbs of Pittsburgh, also participated in the video, along with Reps. Jason Crow of Colorado and Maggie Goodlander of New Hampshire, as well as Sens. Elissa Slotkin of Michigan and Mark Kelly of Arizona.

All six legislators previously served in the military or at intelligence agencies. The FBI contacted them for interviews late last year.

On Wednesday, Slotkin, a former CIA analyst, said the office of U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro reached out last week to request an interview. Pirro's office would neither confirm nor deny whether an investigation is taking place.

A spokesperson for Houlahan confirmed she was also contacted by federal prosecutors. Houlahan said, in a statement, "The six of us are being targeted not because we said something untrue, but because we said something President Trump and [Defense Secretary Pete] Hegseth didn't want anyone to hear."

Houlahan also called the investigation "ridiculous on any day, but especially so on a day the president is considering launching airstrikes against Iran in retaliation for their crackdown on free speech."

In November, the Pentagon opened an investigation into Kelly, a former Navy pilot and astronaut, citing a federal law that allows retired service members to be recalled to active duty on orders of the defense secretary for possible court-martial or other punishment. Hegseth has censured Kelly for participating and is attempting to retroactively demote Kelly from his retired rank of captain.

The senator is suing Hegseth to block those proceedings, calling them an unconstitutional act of retribution.
