DELAWARE COUNTY, Pa. (KYW Newsradio) — Police are urging residents in Newtown Square to lock their cars following a series of break-ins.

Neighbors received community alerts from doorbell cameras and surveillance systems early Friday morning after someone was seen moving through residential backyards near Caley and Tyson roads. That’s in a neighborhood off 252, not far from the former DuPont property.

Authorities believe that the same person stole items from unlocked cars parked on neighborhood streets.

Cash, sunglasses and other small personal belongings were reported missing.

The suspect was dressed in all black at the time of the incidents.

Anyone with information is encouraged to contact Newtown Township police at 215-579-1000.
