PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Residents in a South Philadelphia high-rise had to evacuate Monday after reports of a possible live grenade inside.

According to our newsgathering partners at NBC10, firefighters were outside the Courtyard Apartments at Riverview along South Fourth Street in Queen Village around noon.

The Philadelphia Bomb Squad Unit also responded. Officials say they went inside the building and quickly declared the grenade inactive.

Residents were allowed back inside about an hour later.

No injuries were reported, police said.

Investigators did not reveal where in the high-rise the grenade was found.
