PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Philadelphia police are searching for a prisoner who escaped custody at Jefferson Hospital Monday morning.
Richard Renzo, also known as Richard White, was arrested around 3 a.m. near 8th and Market streets for a grand larceny warrant out of New York City. Police say he also had an open probation warrant out of Philadelphia.
Officers transported Renzo to Jefferson for an injury he sustained before his arrest. Then, about three hours later, around 6 a.m., police say he escaped the hospital.
