PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Rivers Casino in Fishtown was evacuated early Thursday morning after an unspecified threat was made against the complex.

More than a dozen police officers arrived on the scene around 5:30 a.m., when the evacuation was first ordered. Authorities said someone had called in some sort of threat.

In a statement, Rivers Casino said it was "briefly evacuated ... out of an abundance of caution while police checked the building."

"The property was determined to be safe, and Team Members and guests returned soon thereafter," the statement continued.

Police sweep the building and the casino reopened at 8 a.m. It is now operating as usual.
