PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A 16-year-old boy died after the car he was riding in crashed into a tree on Roosevelt Boulevard, police said.
It happened around 12:30 p.m. Sunday in North Philadelphia, near North Fifth Street.
Investigators said three 16-year-old boys were in a Nissan Pathfinder and heading northbound when the driver lost control and slammed into a tree in the median.
The 16-year-old boy who died was in the back seat.
The driver was also taken to the hospital and is expected to be OK, but police detained him for questioning.
