MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Pa. (KYW Newsradio) — A 28-year-old man has pleaded guilty to breaking into his neighbors’ apartments to steal intimate items, and to hiding a camera in one of those apartments to secretly record a woman.

The investigation started when a woman in the Kingswood Apartment complex in King of Prussia found a phone charger with a hidden camera in her studio apartment.

Police say in Ryan Selleny’s bedroom — located in the same complex — they found her underwear and other intimate objects from her apartment in ziplock bags, along with illicit videos Selleny had taken of himself in her apartment inserting bodily fluids into a water bottle and a juice carton, beverages the woman later unknowingly drank.

While Selleny faces what prosecutor Lauren Marvel calls a “significant” prison sentence and will have to register as a sex offender on Megan’s List, the most serious charge he faces is burglary.

“I think sometimes the law doesn't really anticipate certain conduct, and what the defendant did here is, I think, beyond what the law would usually anticipate for a burglary, and I think it's beyond what the law would usually anticipate for an indecent assault,” Marvel said.

Selleny entered an open guilty plea to multiple counts of burglary, theft, invasion of privacy, and indecent assault. He’ll be sentenced at a later date. Marvel says there is an offer on the table until Jan. 22. If Selleny declines to accept that offer, his sentence would be up to a judge.
