PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Kids under the age of 18 must be off of Sea Isle City beaches and boardwalks every night this summer.
Council members on Tuesday approved a curfew for teens from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m., starting May 15 through Sept. 15.
The curfew does not apply to teenagers on their way home from work.
According to the ordinance, kids who violate the curfew will be given warnings. If they refuse to leave, police officers will take them to a station and call their parents or guardians.
Police will not issue a summons or a juvenile delinquent charge.
Sea Isle is also putting a backpack ban in place from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. during the summertime — for both youths and adults. The ban applies to beaches, beach block ends and the boardwalk, with few exceptions.
