PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Police in Abington Township have made a second arrest in a home invasion and robbery late last year.

Jalen Douglas-Smith, 18, of Philadelphia, was taken into custody on Wednesday and charged with robbery, burglary, kidnapping and assault.

On Dec. 2, 2024, police said he and 24-year-old Jonathan Dell, also of Philadelphia, held a woman at gunpoint in the driveway of her home along the 200 block of Cedar Road in Elkins Park.

Authorities said the two suspects forced her into her home and held her and her adult son at gunpoint for nearly an hour. They stole cash, jewelry, electronics and collectibles, then tied up the victims and stole their car, according to police.

Dell was arrested 10 days later.

Investigators said he and Douglas-Smith had a personal connection to someone at the residence, and the home was specifically targeted.
