PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Marquis Andrews, 22, who was already in federal custody, now faces charges stemming from the March 30 mass shooting in West Philadelphia.
Andre Bowie, also 22, was arrested and charged with homicide on June 3rd.
Police say the two were in a white vehicle that stopped near a bar on the 300 block of South 60th Street around 8:40 p.m. At least one masked man got out of the passenger side and fired indiscriminately at a crowd of people.
Two of the victims, 24-year-old Paul Cobb and 24-year-old Naasir Boyd, were shot in the chest and died later that night at Penn Presbyterian Hospital.
Three other men, ages 35, 36 and 54, also suffered gunshot wounds and were treated at area hospitals. After the shooting, the white vehicle leaves the scene. Police say they recovered more than a dozen shell casings fired from at least three different firearms.
In addition to homicide, Bowie is facing arson charges stemming from an incident the following day. Andrews faces federal charges for violating the conditions of his release after serving time for carjacking.
