NEW JERSEY (KYW Newsradio) — Seven people in Burlington County have been charged with operating an illegal drug ring.

New Jersey State Police say William J. Anderson, 60, of Browns Mills, is facing numerous charges for trafficking heroin, methamphetamine and cocaine.

During the four-month investigation, officials saw David Furter, 61, put a red bag inside a mailbox on Junction Road. Officials conducted a traffic stop on Furter after that sighting and seized cocaine and money.

Detectives attempted another traffic stop after seeing Anderson take the red bag. During the pursuit, they say he struck a troop car, drove off, and at some point got rid of the bag, which was recovered by law enforcement with about a pound of methamphetamine inside.

He was later arrested and charged with several things, including operating a drug production facility, drug possession and eluding police.

Officials issued multiple residential and vehicle search warrants and found drugs, drug paraphernalia, weapons and $25,848.

Marc Pleason, 52; Michael Picozzi, 44; Leslie Anderson, 52; Holly Anderson, 26; and Linda Mayberry, 47 were charged in connection.
