In Hatboro, for instance, a huge tree came crashing down in one neighborhood on Williams Lane by York Road. The uprooted tree looks like it was freshly plucked from the Earth.
It fell across the street, and the top of it took down power lines and landed on a couple of parked cars.
Neighbor Keith Karbin said he was startled around 1:30 in the morning.
"The neighbors across the street, it's their tree. The dad said it sounded like a bomb exploded outside their house. We just heard a loud bang. I thought it was thunder. But then we looked out the window — it wasn't thunder," he said.
Adding insult to injury, Karbin said that neighbor actually had an appointment on Monday to get the tree removed because it was in bad shape and they were concerned about how much it was moving in the wind.
The power was still out Monday morning for some, affecting those who are working or learning from home. For Karbin, that's an inconvenience he can live with. He's just grateful no one was hurt.
