PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A Sharon Hill Borough police officer has been arrested in Chester County and charged with the rape of children.
Tyler Humphreys, 21, of Malvern, is charged with rape, statutory sexual assault and aggravated indecent assault.
According to a criminal complaint, Humphreys is accused of sexually assaulting two people in Chester County late last year.
A 15-year-old told police that on Dec. 2, 2022, Humphreys gave her alcoholic beverages, then raped her while she was in and out of consciousness.
A second accuser told police that between Nov. 25 and Dec. 2 of last year, when she was 19 years old, Humphreys convinced her to take over-the-counter drugs in a quantity higher than the recommended dosage. She woke up next to Humphreys, experiencing pain associated with being raped.
According to the Sharon Hill police website, Humphreys was hired in September 2023. Sharon Hill Borough Council President Tanya Allen said the alleged criminal acts happened before Humphreys’ employment with the borough.
“The Borough of Sharon Hill sends its regards to the alleged victims and places its full confidence in the criminal justice system,” she continued in a statement.
