SHARON HILL, Pa. (KYW Newsradio) — Police in Delaware County are asking for the public’s help in identifying a man who they say left kittens to die in sealed containers outside of a veterinary clinic.

The Sharon Hill Police Department released a photo from a security camera of a man carrying a large, plastic container. They say twice this summer the man left a sealed, plastic tub containing kittens outside of The Spayed Club Veterinary Clinic (800 Chester Pike).

“If those kittens had been placed both times in the tubs alive — which we believe they must have been, because why else would he tape down the lid — they suffered, and they died a very horrible death,” said Donna Dybus, director of the clinic.

According to Sharon Hill police, the man can be seen on video crossing the tracks from Collingdale Borough, then walking over to the clinic and leaving the boxes.

The first time it happened was the morning of Saturday, July 15. Two kittens were found dead inside a plastic bin.

“There are signs on both doors that say we are closed on weekends, do not leave animals here. It is cruel. And illegal. They will die,” Dybus said.

Then this past Friday, around 8:30 p.m., she says what appears to be the same man left another bin. She found it around noon the next day with three dead kittens inside.

Dybus said, while they are not a shelter, if someone reaches out to them, they will do all they can to find a rescue organization or foster to take the animal.

Police encourage anyone who recognizes the man to contact the Sharon Hill Police Department at 610-237-6200. Tips can be made anonymously.
