
PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A 17-year-old girl was shot Tuesday afternoon on a SEPTA subway platform in North Philadelphia, according to police.
It happened around 1 p.m. on the 1700 block of North Broad Street, at the northbound platform of the Cecil B Moore station.
Officials said SEPTA police officers nearby heard the gunshot, responded, and rendered aid to the teen, who was shot in the leg. There's no word on her condition.
Police are now working to identify the shooter. The suspect is described as a black male in his late teens. He was last seen wearing black shorts, a white tank top, and carrying a black Under Armour backpack.
Police said the shooting appears to have followed an arguement.
