Argument spurs shooting at Lombard-South subway platform, police say

PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — One man is in police custody after a shooting on a platform along the Broad Street Line left another man wounded late Tuesday morning.

It happened around 11:45 a.m. at the Lombard-South Station. A SEPTA spokesperson said two men got into an argument on the platform and one of them pulled a knife. The other pulled a gun and shot the knife-wielding man.

He was taken to a hospital. His condition wasn’t immediately available.

Police arrested the gunman shortly after the shooting.

Broad Street Line trains are bypassing the Lombard-South Station while the investigation continues.
