PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Four men were shot during a basketball game at a playground in Southwest Philadelphia Monday night.

It happened around 8:15 p.m. at James Finnegan Playground, near 69th Street and Dicks Avenue.

A Vietnam vet who lives nearby told NBC10 he saw a group of people dressed in black and wearing masks get out of two cars and walk toward the basketball court.

“I just watched when they went up the street. They turned off at that basketball court. And a few minutes later, it was like Vietnam — all gunshots erupted. It wasn’t fireworks. I know gunshots when I hear it,” he said.

Police said three men, ages 18 to 20, were shot. A fourth man was hit while he was mowing the lawn nearby.

All four are in stable condition.

Police took three persons of interest into custody. They were all in or around a Dodge Charger that police said had three guns inside.

Police are holding a second car at the scene while they wait for a search warrant.
