SOUTH JERSEY (KYW Newsradio) — Firefighters in New Jersey are battling a wildfire near the Atco Dragway in Camden County. The fire has consumed about 600 acres on Wharton State Forest.
Officials say New Jersey Forest Fire Service is creating containment lines and burning areas in front of the wildfire's path in an attempt to stop it from spreading.
As of a 10 a.m. update, the fire is 10% contained. No structures are threatened.
Jackson Road will close from Atsion Road to Tremont Avenue starting at 11:30 a.m.
