PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A man is dead and another is injured after an apparent road rage shooting in the Kingsessing neighborhood of Southwest Philadelphia on Saturday afternoon.

Police said it happened just before 5 p.m. on the 5200 block of Chester Avenue, not far from the Kingsessing Library and Recreation Center.


Chief Inspector D.F. Pace said somebody driving a Toyota SUV got into an argument with a group of e-bike riders that turned violent.

"Resulting in the driver of that Toyota firing upon the group of bicyclists and EV bikes, striking two persons in that group,” Pace said.

The man who was killed was shot in the chest three times. He has been identified as 20-year-old Miguel Quinones-Barreto, of New Jersey.

The 25-year-old man who was injured was shot in the arm and is in stable condition.

A weapon was recovered at the scene. Police are still looking for the shooter and the 2006 Toyota Highlander that was involved. It has a Pennsylvania license plate with the tag MVT-7466. Anyone with any information on the incident is asked to contact Philadelphia police.

As with every homicide, there is a $20,000 reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction.
