PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Four brothers from New Jersey were inside a car that flipped over the side of I-95 in Port Richmond Friday night, killing two of them, Pennsylvania State Police said.
The brothers were heading northbound toward the Betsy Ross Bridge around 8:15 p.m. when police said the driver lost control of the car. The vehicle struck the guide rail, overturned multiple times, and went over the edge of the roadway, landing on Castor Avenue under the I-95 overpass.
Police said two of the brothers, 22-year-old Joshua Davis and 23-year-old Aaron Davis, were ejected from the back of the car and died. Officials said they were not wearing seat belts.
The two other brothers — Benjamin and Nathaniel Davis, both 18 — were seated in the front. They were taken to a nearby hospital in critical condition.
A puppy in the back of the car was also ejected in the collision and was found dead.
According to police, witnesses said they were racing on the highway with another car before the crash.
