Medical Report: Staying healthy during a respiratory 'tripledemic'

PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — The so-called respiratory "tripledemic" of RSV, COVID-19 and the flu is here.

RSV, or respiratory syncytial virus, is not as well known as the flu or COVID-19, but this virus is aggressive, especially in the very young and the very old.

The good news is that vaccines are available for all of these viruses, and wearing masks and social distancing can also help.

You can take any and all of these measures and still get infected, but these precautions reduce the odds of getting severely ill and being hospitalized, especially if you are in a high-risk group.
