PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — The Eagles will visit the White House next month to celebrate their Super Bowl LIX victory.
There were a lot of rumors that the team would refuse an invitation, but White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said that’s not the case.
“I know there was a lot of fake news about an invitation that wasn’t sent or was sent. We want to correct the record,” she said Tuesday. “We sent an invitation. They enthusiastically accepted, and you will see them here on April 28.”
In 2018, the Eagles did not visit the White House after winning Super Bowl LII. The Trump administration rescinded the invitation.
