PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Police in Montgomery County recovered several guns, ammunition and body armor after they arrested a man accused of making threats against someone in Abington.

Around 6 p.m. Friday, police were called to Walnut and Chelsea avenues, a couple of blocks from North Hills Avenue. There, the victim told officers that a man with a gun had repeatedly threatened him.

The victim said he knew the suspect — Donte Vaughn — and he had been to his property three times that day. He told officers that Vaughn threatened to “shoot this place up,” and he threatened another person during an earlier encounter.

Police said Vaughn returned to the victim’s home with a handgun and called him down to the street to fight. Vaughn then left, walking toward his business a few blocks away on Mt. Carmel Avenue.

Officers met him there and took him into custody. Police said he was unarmed at the time.

Investigators received a search warrant and recovered eight guns inside Vaughn’s business, as well as body armor, several thousand rounds of ammunition, and drugs.

Three of the guns were ghost guns — firearms without serial numbers. Police said a fourth gun was stolen and another was outfitted with a switch, a device that makes it capable of fully automatic firing.

Vaughn was charged with terroristic threats and gun and drug offenses. He is being held on $99,000 cash bail.
