PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — The Coast Guard is investigating after a swastika was found at its training center in Cape May.

The hate symbol was drawn on the wall of a men’s bathroom.

The Washington Post reported that the Coast Guard said its top officer, Admiral Kevin Lunday, immediately flew to the facility from Washington to address recruits and staff members about what happened.

He said, “Anyone who adheres to or advances hate or extremist ideology — get out. Leave. You don’t belong in the Coast Guard and we reject you.”

Lunday faced scrutiny last year after the Coast Guard revised language in a training manual to call swastikas and nooses “potentially divisive” rather than “hate symbols.” The service has since changed that wording.
