PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Philadelphia police are asking for the public’s help in finding a missing South Philadelphia woman.
Sydney Rosenthal was last seen around 1:30 a.m. on Jan. 15 at 15th and Jackson streets. The 30-year-old was wearing a black coat, black boots, green sweatpants, and a Milwaukee Brewers beanie.
Her boyfriend, Aaron Castro, said Thursday was a normal night — they ate dinner, watched TV, then Castro went to bed.
“In the morning, I went to wake her up and she wasn’t there, and there were notes,” he said.
Police found video of her at the NRG subway station shortly after midnight on Friday. A friend who had borrowed one of her devices saw a Google Maps search of FDR Park a short time later. Police searched the park by drone but found no trace of Rosenthal.
Castro said he’s been calling hospitals and shelters with no luck but is holding out hope.
“We’re going crazy,” he said. “I love her so much and I miss her.”
Rosenthal is 5 feet, 3 inches tall and weighs about 120 pounds. She has tattoos on her right arm. Castro said she suffers from medical conditions, including a skin rash that would be visible on her face by now, as she did not take her medications with her.
Anyone with information about Rosenthal’s whereabouts is asked to call South Detectives at 215-686-3013.
