PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A teenager is in critical condition after a hit-and-run incident in Northeast Philadelphia Monday afternoon.
Police said a 16-year-old boy was crossing the street at Horrocks, near Cottman Avenue, around 3 p.m. when a person driving in a Jeep Liberty struck him, then drove off.
A witness followed the Jeep and provided police with a detailed description and license plate number. Police then found the car in a parking lot on Large Street, where they said the driver had left it.
Police said the driver, a 20-year-old man, later reported the crash to the 2nd Police District. No charges have been announced.
The teen is listed in critical condition with severe injuries to his head and leg.
