17-year-old killed in North Philly shooting that saw at nearly a dozen shots fired, police say

NORTH PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Police are looking for a suspect they say shot and killed a 17-year-old just before midnight on Monday in North Philadelphia.

Authorities say the shooting happened near the intersection of 18th Street and Sedgley Avenue in North Philadelphia, and officers first responded to the area for reports of a person with a gun.


They found a 17-year-old suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the torso, arms and legs. He was taken to Temple Hospital, where he died from his injuries just past 3 a.m. on Tuesday.

Officers also found 11 shell casings on the scene.

Police do not have a suspect yet. Anyone with information is urged to call the Philadelphia Police Department's Tip Line at 215-686-TIPS. Tips can remain anonymous.
