PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Two teenagers have been charged with first-degree murder in the shooting death of a 19-year-old in Norristown last month. Police are still looking for a third suspect in what they say is a gang-related killing.

Just after 6 p.m. on Nov. 30, authorities said Hamid Boyd was shot numerous times near Powell and Spruce streets. Investigators recovered 45 spent shell casings at the scene. Boyd was later pronounced dead at the hospital.

Investigators said Boyd was part of a gang known as “The Ave,” while the three suspects — 17-year-old Theodore Adams, 18-year-old Mark Fields, and 20-year-old Ziyker Washington — are part of a rival gang called “1200.” They posed for a photo on Washington’s social media account disparaging The Ave days before Boyd’s homicide.

Investigators used video surveillance and interviews to identify the suspects. Fields was arrested on Dec. 12, and Adams was arrested in Newark, New Jersey, on Dec. 16. Both have been charged with first-degree murder and related offenses.

A warrant has been issued for Washington. He is considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to call Norristown police at 610-270-0977 or Montgomery County Detectives at 610-278-3386.
