PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Two 16-year-old boys were hospitalized after a shooting Saturday afternoon in Philadelphia's Nicetown neighborhood.
Authorities said it happened around 2:30 p.m. Saturday along the 1700 block of St. Paul Street. One boy was shot multiple times in the chest, back and leg. He was taken to a hospital and placed in critical condition.
The other boy was hit in the buttocks and was listed in stable condition.
According to Lt. Dennis Rosenbaum with the Philadelphia Police Department's shooting investigation group, a suspect is in custody.
"We were able to apprehend the doer who was still on location, and we have several witnesses that were out there," he said. "The motive at this time, we believe, is some kind of domestic argument."
Police said no other suspects are currently being sought.
In a separate incident an hour and a half later, a woman was shot twice in the head near Darrah and Pratt streets in the city's Frankford section. She was pronounced dead at an area hospital a short time later. There have been no arrests in that shooting.
