Medical Report: There are more forever chemicals in our water supply

PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) are synthetic chemicals that are used in the manufacturing of hundreds of household items.

The chemicals are found in products like non-stick cooking pans and stain-resistant furniture. They are particularly concerning when they get into our water supply and are highest in areas where there are major manufacturing sites.

The highest concentrations of forever chemicals have been found on the eastern seaboard and in Southern California. These chemicals have been linked to cancer, decreased fertility and liver damage.

Scientists from all over the world are looking at solutions to protect our water supply.
