PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A call about a shooting led Philadelphia authorities to seize a cache of firearms and accessories in the Northwest.

On Wednesday, police received a call from a couple who said they heard a shot fired next to their home on Roxborough Avenue in Manayunk.

When police arrived, they found a shell casing in the couple’s home, and when they went to where they believed the shot was fired, they found a man, identified as Thomas Brion, in a car behind the home.

“The investigation determined that a firearm possessed by the defendant inside the house had discharged — had gone through the wall of the house the defendant was in, and went through the house next door,” said Assistant District Attorney Corey Grable.

Officials said 19 guns, several homemade suppressors, and ammunition were all seized.

Brion faces two dozen charges, including gun possession, reckless endangerment and discharging a firearm in an occupied structure, which is a felony.

Grable said this is an ongoing investigation and there will likely be more arrests.

“Our analysts at the GVFT lab are currently undergoing a cellular forensic analysis of forensic evidence uncovered.”
