GLENSIDE, Pa. (KYW Newsradio) — Police in Abington, Montgomery County, have charged three children they said vandalized a park with anti-Semitic and racist graffiti.
Officials said the three juvenile suspects have been charged with criminal mischief and ethnic intimidation. They did not identify the kids, nor did they say how old they are.
Last Saturday, Oct. 3, police caught wind of the vandalism at Weldon Playground in the Glenside section of Abington Township.
The community responded immediately by bringing their own supplies to erase the messages, which were spray-painted on signs and playground equipment.
Thursday evening, community members also gathered at the playground for a unity event. Organizers said they wanted to affirm that hate has no place in Abington Township.
