MEDIA, Pa. (KYW Newsradio) — The fate of former Delaware County Emergency Director Timothy Boyce is now with the jury, as it began deliberations in his sexual assault trial.

Thursday also included more than two hours of closing arguments from Boyce’s lawyers, who argued for his innocence. Boyce is accused of misconduct by two former women staffers in his office.

Both women accuse Boyce of trying to grab their buttocks. One woman said he also tried to kiss her and the other woman said Boyce lifted her skirt to see her tattoos and showed her a picture of his genitals.

When Boyce testified in the trial earlier this week, he denied the incidents ever occurring. Boyce’s defense team accused the women of conspiring to get money.

The defense also tried to frame Boyce’s trial as a political witch hunt from Delaware County Democrats against him because he is Republican.

If convicted on all the charges he faces, Boyce could spend up to 10 years in jail.

The jury will reconvene Friday.
