WILMINGTON, Del. (KYW Newsradio) — New Castle County police are trying to find the person responsible for slashing dozens of tires in two North Wilmington neighborhoods.
Many affected residents in the Wynnwood and Brandywood communities went outside to head to work Monday morning, only to find their tires flattened.
Eric Saulsbury discovered three of the tires on his pickup truck were slashed. It was parked on the driveway.
“Brand new tires; $1,200 to get fixed,” he said.
There were approximately 30 reports of slashed tires between Sunday night and Monday morning, officials said. Police released surveillance videos of the person believed to be involved. The individual is seen wearing a blue hoodie, with the hood covering their head, and black pants with a white stripe.
New Castle County police urged residents to check their cars for damage and signs of tampering, and to report anything suspicious. Police also asked residents and businesses in the area to check their surveillance camera footage to see if the tire slasher is visible.
