PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — The three security checkpoints that were closed at Philadelphia International Airport due to the partial government shutdown have all reopened, after TSA officers started to get paid again.

The Terminal A-West checkpoint, primarily used by travelers flying internationally, reopened at 5 a.m. on April 3. The line moved along during the morning rush with few issues. The checkpoint at Terminal C, which is TSA PreCheck only, reopened the day before.

The Terminal F checkpoint reopened on April 7.

The three checkpoints were closed for weeks because of the TSA staffing shortage caused by the partial government shutdown, which has now dragged on for more than 50 days. Many officers called out or quit as paychecks stopped coming in.

Officers started to get paid again on March 30 after President Donald Trump signed an executive order, which has helped ease some of the long lines.

On Friday, local TSA union officials said so far, they received two out of the three paychecks that they are owed. One of the payments that they were supposed to receive this week is delayed due to an issue in the payroll system.
