PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — The U.S. Marshals Service has released new video of 17-year-old Shane Pryor who escaped from custody while at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia Wednesday afternoon.
Pryor was in custody for a 2020 murder. Police say he escaped from escorting staff just before noon and was caught on camera in the lobby of the Hub for Clinical Collaboration building about five minutes later, asking an employee at the desk if he could use a phone. He was denied use, then left.
Police say he then asked a different person if he could use their phone. They let him, and say that's when he called for someone to come pick him up. The person arrived to get him in a tan Ford Fusion. The car has since been obtained and the driver is now in police custody being questioned. So far, no charges have been filed.
A blue Ford F-150 officials believed Pryor was using to get around is no longer being sought.
