PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — We have the World Cup, the All-Star Game, the PGA Championship and March Madness, but Philly was missing a big sporting event this year.
Not anymore.
“UFC 330 is coming to Philadelphia in August,” Gov. Josh Shapiro announced on “The Pat McAfee Show” on ESPN.
The organization last hosted a UFC Fight Night event in the city in 2019, but the last numbered event was back in 2011.
“It’s a huge economic driver,” Shapiro said. “Tens of millions of dollars for our local economy. But it’s also a great opportunity for people who love this growing sport to be able to come together.”
We don’t yet know who will be in the Octagon, but it will take place at Xfinity Mobile Arena on Aug. 15. Expect ticket information in the coming weeks.
