PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A driver has been arrested on suspicion of DUI in connection with a high-speed crash outside of a Center City charter school on Wednesday afternoon that injured a pedestrian.

The collision happened right outside Independence Charter School just before 3 p.m. Students had been dismissed early, just before 2 p.m., though there were still afterschool programs going on.

Videos obtained by KYW Newsradio showed a Dodge Durango traveling westbound along Lombard Street and running a red light at 15th Street. The driver appeared to be speeding and ran a red light at 16th and Lombard streets before they hit a Range Rover traveling northbound.

The Range Rover then lost control and hit a pedestrian crossing the street, knocking her to the ground. Bystanders went to the pedestrian’s aid. Two people were also seen getting out of the Durango, running out of the frame.

According to police, the pedestrian suffered minor injuries.

Charges haven't been filed against the driver yet, pending blood toxicology results.

Mark Krull of Center City captured the collision on his cellphone.

"If you slow down the video, there is a woman in white jogging pants, and just before she gets hit, she was hit by the Range Rover,” Krull pointed out.
