Video: Man wanted in shooting of Rite Aid security guard in North Philadelphia

The victim was shot once in the foot

PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — The Philadelphia Police Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying a man who shot a Rite Aid loss prevention officer in the foot in North Philadelphia.

The shooting took place Tuesday at 8:50 p.m. at the Rite Aid at Broad and Oxford streets, near Temple University.

Police released surveillance video that shows the suspect wavering at the front door in an apparent verbal dispute.

The 31-year-old security guard was shot once in his right foot. He was treated at the hospital and is expected to physically recover.

Officials say the suspect came to the store with a woman in a gold or silver SUV. He was wearing a Florida Marlins baseball cap, a black down coat, black pants and gray sneakers.
