PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A reward is being offered for the arrest and conviction of a man who assaulted a Pat’s King of Steaks employee with a cheesesteak.
It was around 5 p.m. Wednesday when a man went up to the counter at Pat’s King of Steaks and ordered a whiz wit sandwich. He went back to the counter 10 minutes later with complaints.
Video shows a customer, wearing a hoodie and carrying a camera with a small tripod, throwing the sandwich in the face of Tom Francano.
“I was pretty pissed off,” said Francano, who has worked at the shop for 47 years. “I’m not used to getting a streak thrown in my face.”
The customer took off.
Pat’s owner Frank Olivieri told NBC10 he believes the man is a social media influencer. He is offering a $5,000 reward for an arrest and conviction.
“He assaulted my employee,” he said. “We’ll see how many of his friends he has online are really his friends; we’ll see who is going to turn him in first.”
A police report has been filed. Tips can be made at 215-686-TIPS.
